SASKWATCH: LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND
SATURDAY 8PM
SEPTEMBER 22

Freshly back in the country from a run of shows at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Spiegeltent, soul funk nine-piece, SASKWATCH, hit the ground running with a nearly national tour this September/ October. Saturday September 22nd, Saskwatch make their presence known in the nicest possible way at Transit Bar in celebration of the release of their debut album Leave It All Behind. Replete with the sweetest jams and heavy steppin’ funk joints, Leave It All Behind, ticks all the boxes and looks fantastic doing it.

SASKWATCH AT A GLANCE:
- The band are nine friends Liam, Nkechi, Rob, Sam, Nic, Will, Ed, Tom, Olaf, trumpet, voice, guitar, baritone saxaphone, trumpet, tenorsaxophone, saxophone, drums, bass, keyboard.
Vince Peach (3PBS radio DJ) saw the band busking and invited them to perform at 'Soul in the Basement' hosted at the famed Cherry Bar. That was three years ago, today they hold the venue's highest attendance record.
. Liam McGorry is son of Patrick McGorry, Australian of the Year 2010, Liam was delighted to meet Adam Gilchrist at the awards ceremony.
. Ed, Tom and Sam grew up in Ballarat.
. David Bates saw the band perform at the Spegieltent and immediately invited them to Edinburgh Festival Fringe for 14 shows.
. The name is the result of Nic not being able to spell very well. Sask-watch. Yeah!
. Currently the band are enjoying records by Dr Dog, Javelin, Lee Fields, Tame Impala and Tammi Terrell.
. The band signed to Northside Records with the promise to 'Keep it real'.

LEAVE IT ALL BEHIND AT A GLANCE:
. It was recorded early in 2012 at Woodstock Studios in Melbourne.
. It was recorded straight to tape in all its analogue glory.
. It's 10 of their own and two band-picked covers, these being Kids, the Kylie & Robbie track, and Coca Cola from Melbourne's Little Red
. The opening track Delinquent sets
a ripping pace, a funky instrumental preparing you for the ride to come. Press play now!
. The album then moves happily between heavy steppin' funk joints and the sweetest soul ballads - suitable for dancing OR listening.
